[And to prove his point, Guy sits across from Luke with his own plate of chicken and rice.]

Still, I was only out for a little while...

[Oh right, the reason he came back.]

Were you really that worried about me?

[Guy moves some rice around his plate with his fork before shoveling in a mouthful and talking around his food.]

So what's bothering you?

[AUGH HOW'D HE KNOW]

Mmhmm. [Guy just stares at Luke as he slowly chews his food. Sure it's nothing. Sure.]

Mmhmm. [Yeah, it's totally nothing. Totally. Also Guy your stare is unnerving, so Luke looks back down at his food.

Honestly, he's mostly just worried about Guy. But he's also a little worried about himself. Guy comes from the future. If he's so clingy and attached to Luke... That means something's going to happen to him in the future, doesn't it?

It's strange. Luke should be jumping with joy at that thought. But instead, he's being a little scared and nervous.

... Not to mention that Guy accompanying him everywhere really is annoying. I bet he stands outside the bathroom too.]

[Guy works the food around in his mouth so he has an easier time speaking around it.]

You're a terrible liar, Luke.

[Unfortunately it doesn't even occur to him that he could be the source of Luke's discomfort. Well, aside from what he'd already expressed.]

[And Luke doesn't exactly plan on disclosing that bit of information. Luke was just chewing his food when Guy said that, and he doesn't even bother to try making it easier to talk.]

What? [Except that probably sounded more like "Fffat?"]

[Guy swallows and jabs his fork in Luke's direction.]

Bad liar. You. I know something's wrong.

[SWALLOW. Gdit Guy, why can't you just let him enjoy his meal.]

It's kind of scary the way you do that sometimes.

[Pause. He pushes his food around a bit before he glances up at him again.]

I just don't get it, I guess. You've never really followed me around that much before.

[Parental instincts, man. Guy's got them. That and Luke is an easy read.

Guy very carefully guards his expression and movements, cutting up his chicken as he thinks; he's been horribly careless lately, but having Luke around again is really screwing up how good he is at hiding things. Or maybe that's just a result of being in Luceti for so long, where hiding things isn't quite as necessary as it was back home.]

Well...you did just vanish all of a sudden here. It scared me.

I didn't mean today, Guy. Ever since I came here you've been hovering over me! [Eep, did he say too much? He bunches his shoulders just a bit.] D-Don't get me wrong; I love being around you! But...

I didn't mean today either. [He spears the section of chicken he cut and chews on it for a bit, to give him a second to organize his words and double-check to make sure they didn't imply anything potentially volatile.]

I meant when you left Luceti before. I didn't know if you'd gone back home, been kidnapped or what.

Oh... [Luke sticks his fork into the chicken, but doesn't lift it up just yet. That would make sense. But no, he's here now, right? Guy doesn't have to worry anymore. He suddenly lifts his head as a thought comes to mind:]

Months. [Guy could rattle off an approximate number of days but he doesn't feel like it.]

[... Oh. Well that explains a lot.]

... And here I thought a month was bad.

[Smiling now, and resuming eating to make this less tense.] But i'ff not a bi'h deal. I c'n stop fo'wing you if it bo'vers you.

[But he's still pretty bothered. He can't really shake the feeling that something happens in the future... Oh wait Guy just talked to him in the ancient language of food-in-mouth.]

Just- Not so much, okay? I said I love having you around, remember?

[Hmm. Now that Guy's smiling again, this isn't so bad! Luke chances a small smile himself as he chomps down on his chicken.]

Her' I fote shomfin' happ'n chto me 'r shomfin'.

[It takes a good chunk of Guy's self-control not to react to that last statement.]

Nah. [He swallows.] I'll tone it down, promise.

[Now he's staring intently at a part of the chicken that he cut off that's particularly juicy. But not because of the fact that it looks nice.

Guy, if you look up, this is the familiar face of a boy who's thinking about flinging that chicken piece at you and starting a food fight.]

[Guy's eyebrows raise and he makes a questioning noise.

AND THEN HE GLARES. Luke if you throw his food across the kitchen he will bring the smackdown on you via the detachable nozzle on their sink.]

[THE WARNING GOES UNNOTICED.

And now there is a piece of lemon chicken flying through the air RIGHT TOWARDS YOUR FACE, Guy. AND ONE MANCHILD BEHIND IT ALL.]

Take that!

Ahh-!

[Oh you are in for it now. Guy just grabs his plate and throws the remainder of his rice at Luke's face before abandoning the table in favor of scrambling for the sink.]

Gah-!

[Luke ducks, but some of the rice still gets into his hair. And you know what, while he's down there, he's going to dive and slide under it to try and grab at Guy's ankles to stop him.]
