[Now that those are out of the way, Luke rests his chin in his hand and stares off to the side, lost in thought. The thing he wanted to talk to Ion about... It's been weighing heavily on his mind ever since he heard it. Luke isn't sure what to think of it, or even how to feel about it. There's a sort of happiness inside him, sure, but... he can't deny the hesitation and confusion he feels. So, after a few minutes, he opens up the journal again to ask the general populace:]

[Great, a nasty look.

Guy sighs aloud this time, leans his head against the doorjamb.]

I meant it when I apologized. I know you're working hard on changing how you see yourself, and I know it's not something that happens overnight.

I just...get angry when people put you down. Even if you're the one doing the insulting.

It's okay... I know I'm pretty frustrating.

[He gives a little sigh of his own, at himself.]

[Guy heads over to sit next to Luke on the edge of the tub, leaning forward to copy Luke's posture.]

You know this is the only thing about you that makes me mad, right? Not that you're a replica, or that you don't get what I'm saying sometimes. It's that you don't seem to like yourself as much as I do.

Just keep that in mind next time you start to think poorly of yourself, okay? If all else fails and you end up hating yourself, I'm still gonna like you whether you want me to or not.

[There's some silence from Luke at first as he lets that sink in. No matter what, Guy's always gonna like him, huh? Even when he made the worst mistake in his life, Guy came back for him. Even though he's a replica, Guy still stayed by his side.

He smiles a little.]

Heh. Yeah. [And he bumps his knee against Guy's.] That's why you're my best friend. Even if we make each other mad sometimes.

[Luke stands with him - but not before reaching out to grab Guy's wrist.]

I meant what I said, you know... About it not being so bad to be a replica. I want you to understand that, okay?

[This is a big step for Luke, in his eyes. And he'd like for Guy to acknowledge that instead of the other negative feelings.]

Sure, it's a big step...one Luke made months ago, for him. Years, if he counted his time in Luceti and his time waiting for Luke to come back.

He just wants Luke to like himself again.]

[Thankfully, Luke is rather oblivious to these things, so he just smiles.]

[You try hearing your best friend be extremely excited about his insides being spread across the floor. Sheesh.

Luke makes a face at Guy before he slowly lowers himself in the chair again. Stupid Guy.]

[The kitchen is quiet, the only noises being the chop of a knife or the sizzle of a pan as Guy prepares some stir fry.]

[STANDS UP AGAIN, this time nearly tipping the chair over. Thankfully, the poor thing manages to fall back on all of its legs as Luke slams his hands down on the table.]

Is that why he's been avoiding me?!
