[There's some irritated grumbling going on. Shuffle. Grumble. Shifting through leaves. Grumble. KICKING A TREE-]

Ow!

[... Grumble.

And now HI LUCETI, YOU'RE NOW SEEING THE BOTTOM OF SOMEONE'S FOOT. But it lifts up quickly, and in its place is a teenaged boy with short, scraggly red hair and green eyes staring curiously down at the journal. Aaand then it morphs an annoyed face.]

Man, this isn't even my journal... And where the hell did my shirt go?

[The person disappears and gives yet another grumble as he searches through some leaves... Then seems to resolve to find his way to the village, as his footsteps start to grow fainter and fainter. He may not know it, but he's going in the completely wrong direction of where he's supposed to go.]

[Sigh. C'mon Guy, smile; there you go.]

You okay Luke? You said you're above the village?

[DEJECTED FACE. But now he's focused on walking to the river again.]

I... guess I am. [Do you hear that, Guy? It's the RIVER.] And there's the river! It's going... [... Which way IS it going, Luke can't exactly tell which way is which, so he waves his hand in the direction it's flowing in.] that way.

Head downstream. I'm coming your way. [Running at breakneck speeds, more like it.]

All right. I'll meet you halfway. [AND LUKE IS... walking fast. Ish. He's still stepping on stupid rocks and twigs, but getting cut off from Asch, especially when there was no one else near him, made him feel incredibly alone and insecure. Always trust Guy to come to the rescue, though.]

[Except it was totally Guy's fault that Asch stormed off. Oh well.

It takes a while, but once Guy spots Luke he quite possible runs even faster and plows right into him, wrapping him up in a hug.]

[Oh hey there's Guy-WHUMPF. Luke lets out an "Oof!" from the force of it - in fact he got tackled right off his feet. And-OW HIS BACK-Luke lets out a hiss from that. Doesn't hurt as much as Asch's fonic link did, but... wtf, did he land on MORE roots or something? But once the pain edges away... There is a Guy on top of him and hugging him really tight.]

Uh... [Guy's letter didn't sound like he missed him that badly, did it? He'll just. Slowly return the hug. He kind of missed him, too... Okay, he really missed him, so have a real hug.]

[Guy figures he can only get away with this for a little while, so once it grows uncomfortable he backs off, sitting back on his heels and just holding Luke out at arm's length, smiling. He at least has the decency to look a little sheepish about tackling Luke to the ground.

Sure, it maybe wasn't the return he was expecting back home, but...it would do.]

Sorry about that. But uh...you look like you're okay. That's good.

[Luke rolls his shoulders - jeez, his back hurts, especially after that. But he gives a sheepish smile of his own. He did miss Guy, and while he wasn't quite expecting a tackle hug, it did reassure him that Guy really missed him, too. And that... kind of feels nice.]

Yup. Didn't cut my foot open or anything, see? [TOE WIGGLES.]

Good job.

[Guy hesitates, then awkwardly scratches the back of his head.] You um...what's the last thing you remember, Luke?

Huh? [That came out of nowhere. But he'll answer it.] ... I was on the ferry going towards Daath. I just finished reading the letters you guys sent me. [GRIN] Walking rappigs, huh Guy?

[Erk. Let's distract Luke with some freakish news, huh?]

Luke, I guess you haven't noticed yet, but... [And he reaches over Luke's shoulder to touch one of his wings.]

SLAPPING GUY'S HAND AWAY]

Guy! What gives, you-

[Wait.]

... What was that?

[Guy shrugged, then tilted his shoulder to give Luke a view of his own set of pale sky blue wings; this was one of his many shirts he'd altered with holes in the back, so they're in plain sight.]

You've got your own, you know.

[WHAT- Luke's mouth fell open right when he saw Guy's wings, and he's just about to point and state the obvious when Guy told him that he had them, too. After a split second hesitation, he twists around to look, and-

You know that pose you always do when a girl gets too close to you? Luke's doing that now.]

Wh-What the-?!

Weird little quirk about showing up here; everyone gets their own pair. You get used to them after a while, but take care of them because it hurts like hell when they get pulled or crushed.

[THIS ISN'T HELPING MUCH]

Here?! Guy, where the hell are we?!

[Pfft, fending off spazzing child now.]

Calm down, calm down; this place is called Luceti. Believe or not, it's not on Auldrant. It's some place completely different.

[FREEZES.

What he says next sounds so fearful and nervous that he says it in a whisper.]

Did- Did I screw up again?

[BECAUSE THESE THINGS ARE USUALLY HIS FAULT.]

No! [Guy is quick to dismiss that possibility; if Luke's from then, it's no wonder he'd blame himself first and foremost. Guy can't let him think this is his fault.]

No. No, you didn't. Everyone was brought here by something else entirely, hyperresonance hasn't got anything to do with it. There are people from entirely different worlds, so it's not you.

[Good thinking, Guy, because that notion slowly starts to disappear. Luke can imagine accidentally warping everyone to some other place just like the screw up he is, but worlds upon worlds? No way. He's not powerful enough. Which is a good thing. So, he looks visibly relieved to hear that, loosening the tension from his body and letting out a sigh.

But wait again.]

Different worlds?

Yeah. Different planets. I've talked to a bunch of other people; nobody even knows what fonons are.

But how- I mean, I guess I can see why... I didn't even know what fonons were for a while. [Because he was so stupid back then BUT MOVING ON] But how'd we all get pulled here? And how can a planet be so far away that they don't even know what fonons are?

[Guy sighs and shakes his head.]

I don't know. All the explanation we get on that is-

[Geez. This is going to take a while. Guy stands, and heads a few feet away to where he tossed the shirt and shoes, gathering them up to offer them to Luke.] Actually, let's walk and talk at the same time. Here.

[Oh thank goodness, shirt and shoes. He gladly accepts them and tugs them on, and hey, they fit perfectly! And even have holes for the wings, although he doesn't realize this until one of them slips through. This is so weird. Sooo weird. The other one won't cooperate as much though, and moving it hurts, so he'll just leave it as is.

Once he's done, he pushes himself up and dusts himself off.]
