[Now that those are out of the way, Luke rests his chin in his hand and stares off to the side, lost in thought. The thing he wanted to talk to Ion about... It's been weighing heavily on his mind ever since he heard it. Luke isn't sure what to think of it, or even how to feel about it. There's a sort of happiness inside him, sure, but... he can't deny the hesitation and confusion he feels. So, after a few minutes, he opens up the journal again to ask the general populace:]

What do you think it means to have a soul?

Do mean a heart in the physical sense of the thing that pumps blood and keeps you alive, or the more poetic meaning?

I guess it's kind of the same thing? If you didn't have a soul then you wouldn't have anywhere to have feelings.

I'm not really an expert or anything, but I'd think that if you care enough to wonder if you have one, then you likely do.

... I know I do. It's just that... for a while, I didn't think I did. But someone showed me that I have one, and... I guess I'm just trying to figure out why.

No! No... I don't know. It's weird.

Well, if you've thought something about yourself for a while, and then... it turned out to be different, wouldn't you think it's weird?

That's what I'm talking about, then. [And honestly, this is the second time Luke had to go through that. The first time was a lot worse, but still... It's never easy.]

Are you worried that the people you know will look at you differently, as well?

No... I don't think this is like last time. Besides, I'm still me.

I'm just worried about how I see myself.

Do you think more of yourself now?

Yeah. A little.

Well, it's probably a good thing, then. Don't you think?

Probably... [It is a good thing... And scary, and strange, and confusing, and... Luke doesn't really know.]

Sometimes it helps to just keep reminding yourself of that. It's for the better and you know more about who you really are... just keep thinking about it until the strangeness of it wears off.
