Hey, Guy? My hair's getting kind of long... Could you come cut it for me? I'd do it myself, but I can't really see back there...

Ion, can I talk to you? It's important.

[Now that those are out of the way, Luke rests his chin in his hand and stares off to the side, lost in thought. The thing he wanted to talk to Ion about... It's been weighing heavily on his mind ever since he heard it. Luke isn't sure what to think of it, or even how to feel about it. There's a sort of happiness inside him, sure, but... he can't deny the hesitation and confusion he feels. So, after a few minutes, he opens up the journal again to ask the general populace:]

What do you think it means to have a soul?

I guess that would vary from world to world. I'm pretty sure it can get complicated in some places.

You're having troubles with this kind of thing?

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-06 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
And that's good, right? Although I'm pretty sure most living beings have one.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-06 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
I think I know, but maybe you should look for something simpler? You have a soul, right? That means you're a person and live just like everyone else. Kind of like someone I know from back home.

A childhood friend of mine. There was... a mistake, and he ended up as just a soul attached to a suit of armor.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-06 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Ever since I got here that's been a really tough question to answer.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-06 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Sort of. That, and an alternate world.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-06 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. The version of my friend I met here was from a world similar, but different than my own.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-07 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
No, it did, but his journey to get his body back was different than the one I'm familiar with. I don't know what's happened in my world, but he was able to restore himself in his.

I wonder if there are other alternate worlds. I guess that opens up a lot of possibilities.

You're absolutely right.

By the way, I'm Winry.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-07 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I'd rather not call it that.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-07 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Because it's - it wasn't a unanimous naming decision.

[identity profile] crytearsofjoy.livejournal.com 2011-02-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Anyway, yes. I do work at the smithy. You've been there?
