[Luke had been trying to get back to House 5, but it's awfully hard to do so with a sudden crowd of people. There's a whole slew of sounds coming from the journal as if Luke's right in the middle of the crowd, along with Luke himself switching between trying to be polite and being outright indignant about being pushed through a sea of people. One can hear him saying "Excuse me" and "Sorry", along with "HEY" and "WATCH IT, YOU JERK".

Eventually, though, the noises fade as Luke escapes and slides down the wall of a house that he decided to take refuge behind. With a loud sigh, Luke straightens his jacket and speaks to the journal, ignoring the light pain in his abdomen from his still healing wound.]

What a pain...

Guy, Asch, Natalia, I don't think I can make it back to the house. I'll just camp out or something, okay?

[Maybe he can find some marshmallows and make some awesome smores or something. Away from the sudden crowd.]

[You know what sucks? Finding yourself in a weird, new, fricking CROWDED environment when you're supposed to be reforming the Order of Lorelei! But you know what's worse? Having it snowing and cold and being in a goddamn DRESS.

But you know what's awesome? Plowing through the crowd and the snow atop a huge stuffed puppet. That's exactly what Anise is doing right now, shouting back at the people with enough gall to swear at her and Tokunaga.]

[Well, he definitely recognizes that voice. He snaps his head up and peeks around the house to see just about what he expected to see. Oh boy... At least Anise found a new way to get through a crowd?

Luke uses the wall as support to stand himself up, then shouts after her.]

Anise!

[Well, Luke, in any other situation, Anise would have acted the way you would have thought - blink, turn, and bound right up to your with a smile and a hug. Problem is...you've been gone, supposedly dead for close to a year already back on Auldrant. And while Anise doesn't want to believe it, she has to think rationally here.

So the voice makes her freeze, and turn slowly around atop Tokunaga, to stare, in shock, at the familiar face. Was she dreaming?]

[And, of course, Luke has no idea about any of this, so he just steps out from behind his hiding place and looks down the path at all the people who rub the spot where Tokunaga mauled them and stand up slowly.]

... You could've been a little gentler on them, you know?

[Sorry, Luke, your words and going in one ear and out the other as Anise continues to stares at you for quite some time. He's...really there, isn't he? She got lost, yeah, but Luke was really there.

Brb, jumping down from Tokunaga's head to run right over to you (hastily shoving people out of her way) and wrap you up in the tightest, most desperate hug she could muster.

Please be real, Luke.]

[Well. Anise sure is acting different, and Luke's irritated look fades after she stares at him for some time.]

... Hey, are you-

[And then she's running toward him, and though he's a little surprised - shown by the way he takes a step back once she gets too close - he still brings his arms up to return that hug, even though he isn't sure why she's doing it. It's a desperate hug, though, and he can tell. Why would she...]

Anise...

[She hangs on tight, face buried in Luke's clothes, nuzzling into them to make sure he's really there and she's not just dreaming or something again. But he does feel real, and the warmth and voice and hug all feel and sound real, too, so...]

Boo, you...moron. What took you so long?

[And Luke may notice that Anise doesn't have any wings poking out of her shoulders, given their close proximity, and how short she is.]

[Luke purses his lips at that. Yup, he's definitely noticed the lack of wings, which confuses him... But what she said confused him more. If she went back home and just came back here, why is she reacting like this? It's not like he was missed that much when he didn't see everyone for a month.

But what if... When he first arrived, Guy watched over him like crazy and panicked if he wasn't around. Was this related to that?

Is something going to happen to him in the future?

... He'll think about that later. Instead, he brings a hand up to rest on top of Anise's head and gives his best smile.]

[Ah, that's nice. Nice, and familiar, and warm, and comforting, and good god is she tempted to beat the hell out of him. You had her worried sick and she's going to kill you for it, you big jerk!

Anise takes a deep breath, and pushes away all that for now. She's cold, not to mention lost and confused, and wants to get some answers. Preferably in a warm place. You are being toted now, Luke, just so she can get Tokunaga back.]

Boo, I'll squash you later. Where are we anyway? Keterburg?

[Aaand he's promptly dragged. wtf, first emotional hugging, now rough dragging. What is it with replicas and being abused, seriously?

But he follows after her. He can at least point out where to go if she forgot about Luceti.]

[That's because Anise's priorities are on getting warm right now, damnit. And she can't just let Luke go or anything, either (what if he disappears again?).

Anise shrinks down Tokunaga, and was just about to make her way back out of the crowd before Luke explain. ...What. Luke, you are totally kidding right? Because that joke kinda sucks.]

[That's okay by Luke, although her actions are still very worrisome. Also, Jade's the one who kids around, not him. 8|

He rubs the back of his head as he tries to figure out how to explain this.]

I-I'm not really sure how you got here, but... this place is called Luceti. A different world. A lot of people got pulled here from places other than Auldrant.

[Yeah, she's not buying that. Plus, she hasn't seen your wings just yet. ~~She's too short.~~]

Luke, you fell on your head when they brought you back, didn't you?

["Brought him back"... But that flies over his head in favor of defending his honor.]

I did not! Tear, Guy, Asch, Natalia and a lot of other people are here, too!

[Anise pauses, and her teasing look turns turns to one of morbid confusion and a hint of guilt. That couldn't be right. Everyone else, maybe, but...]

Luke...that's not--Asch is... [But then she has a sudden realization and clamps her mouth shut. Did he forget?] What's the last thing you remember, Luke?

[Sorry, but her question is getting tossed aside in favor of Luke take a step forward.]

What... Anise, what happened to Asch?

[How did it get to this point? Damnit, Anise did not want to break this to Luke. Not after she had been waiting close to a full year to see him again. This moment should have been filled with smiled, laughter, and tears! Not just tears.]

...Asch died, Luke, before we went to fight the Commandant. You were the one who told all of us! I-I guess you saw or felt it or something, we weren't there to see it happen. But...But you came back, and I-I knew you would! [That was a horrible lie, Anise.] S-So maybe Asch can come back, too! I-I'm sorry, Luke...

Asch...

[That's about all he can say before he just... stares ahead with wide eyes, not really seeing Anise. Asch was dead in the future? But... how could that be? How could Asch be dead? No, no, no, not after all that's happened to him, after all he's worked for to ensure the world was safe again! And... And him, too! Guy's panic, Anise's hug, everyone's hesitation around him, did... did everyone know?

He feels light-headed. Luke presses a hand against his forehead as he takes a step back.]

No...

[Anise watches Luke for some time, feeling sick and cold - which wasn't solely because of the chill in the air now. It's only when he speak again that she takes a careful step forward, to make sure he doesn't faint or anything. She takes his hand carefully, squeezing his fingers and avoiding his eyes.]

I-I'm sorry... Luke, I'm really, really sorry...but you're here right now, a-and you said Asch is, too! S-So...there's nothing to worry about, right? You're both here, so...so--

[That hand might to squeezing your fingers a tad more tightly.]
