Ah, a friend? Hm. I can't say I have much experience with your sort of plight, then, but I'm sure there's a solution. Have you tried putting something in his food? I hear there are plenty of drugs which can knock someone out rather quickly, and if he is your friend, he would trust anything you gave him, right?

That's might only work once, though. All he needs to do is not trust anything you give him to consume. Or rather, that whole scheme relies on gullibility.

As I thought, this is much more difficult if you're restricting yourself to non-permanent harm. Are you sure you don't want to simply kill him?
