LUKE FON FABRE is mostly just trying to get back home, as is tradition for days such as this. Having spent a good while in Luceti, he can't really be too weirded out anymore, even if he still gets irritated by the big crowd. He mostly just dodges people as much as he can, looks at all the new faces, and maybe looks for familiar one as well. Luceti sure never fails to get weirder and weirder...
TEDDY ALTMAN, however, has never seen this before, so he'll either be walking along the paths and watching people curiously, taking the opportunity to aid people who seem too lost, or be flying up in the air once he's fed up with the New York-style crowd, just wondering what's going on. It didn't seem to be the season for new people, and they seemed different, all lacking wings. Yet a few were familiar, a few were interesting, and a few seemed hopelessly confused, so he might end up touching down and poking at them.

But - But it's her. It's his mom, alive, and when he lands and sees that she's still walking, he realizes that he doesn't care if it's a dream or anything like that. He first walks, then starts to run to her, arms already in the process of spreading to catch her in a hug he desperately needed to give and receive.]
Mom!
:D
As first, she's afraid. Is she dead, and did her mistake in angering the Super Skrull cause him to be killed as well? Had she failed that terribly in protecting her prince? How could she ever face Anelle in the next life if her failure doomed the empire and the child they both loved?
But then- the way he holds her, desperate and needy and relieved, like- like he hadn't seen her in a long time, or that something terrible had happened, and that he's happy she's safe...
Something is very strange about this place, that much is certain. But what is even more certain is that her charge - her son is upset, and she doesn't hesitate to lift her arms and hold him back. Whatever's going on, as long as he's safe, she'll manage.]
Teddy...

A part of him still thinks this is some kind of experiment that'll leave him feeling empty and cheated again, leaving him to quietly leave and sit somewhere alone again. But Teddy can't miss this chance, and he holds her as tight and close as he can manage without hurting her, one hand gripping the back of her shirt and the other holding the back of her head.
Dream, experiment or not, there's no denying the lump in his throat and the burning sting in his eyes and the way his jaw clenches as if he's physically holding back a powerful emotion. Especially when she holds him back; how long had he just wished that she'd find him and wrap her arms around him and tell him things would be okay? He hadn't stopped doing so since the day she died.
His answer to her is nothing more than a contained hiccup. He doesn't trust his voice right now.]
oh no baby no
Shh, Teddy... it's alright now, I'm here.
IT'S TOO LATE
A part of him knows that he needs to back off and explain things to her, let her know where she is and what's going on. But a larger part of him doesn't want to let go, as if he's afraid that she'll disappear if he stops. And it very well could happen, with his luck.]
Mom... ["How did you get here" "Are you all right" "I have so much to tell you" are all the things he ought to say and even prepares to say, but...]
I'm sorry. I'm so... I - [I never got to say any of the things I wanted to - ] I love you so much.
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE
But he'd always been sensitive, and that made him loving. And she can never begrudge him that, although there were times when she wished he'd been more careful how he distributed it. Humans were a loving race, but they were also greedy, frightful, and sometimes violent even when in love. It had been difficult to watch him be hurt by love, when she knew he loved so deeply.
He's crying now because he loves deeply - and because he loves her. And how could any woman, human or otherwise, be unhappy about that?
She turns her head, not pulling back, just shifting enough to press her lips gently against the side of his head, where she can reach with him still so close.]
I know. I know, honey. I love you too. And you have nothing to apologize for...

What's she supposed to think about that? She's taking it well, at least, and even kissing the side of his head - god, that just causes a fresh wave of tears. But still, even though she's a Skrull, a race that's violent and powerful and Teddy still can't believe the kind mother he'd always known was actually one of them, this is still his mom and he's not sure how Skrulls view things like a possible terrible future or their sons crying over it or...
So he's the one who pulls back and covers his eyes with one hand, though he still keeps the other on her shoulder, like he just can't stop keeping contact with her. There's a long pause, and a few more shakes of his shoulders, before he wipes his hand across his eyes and looks up at her. He has a weak and shaky smile, and his eyes look wet and disbelieving yet happy, but all traces of tears are gone. The wonders of being a shapeshifter.]
I can't believe you're here. How did... [Dumb question, no one knows how they got here.] Are you okay? You're... You're fine, right? [Dammit, you're going to scare her again.]

I'm fine, sweetheart. Just a little confused. I'm... not sure how I ended up here.
[Her brows furrow, not quite willing to say it so soon after he'd managed to stop himself from crying, but... she was sure that she'd died. One doesn't just forget about that. But as always, his needs must come first. It's her duty as a mother and as his protector, and more than that, she's worried about him.]
But you- Teddy, you must have so many questions...
no subject
Nothing, because there was pain in the back of his head, and then he woke up unable to move his arms and legs. But he knew, he just knew.
His gaze drops as a result, and he ends up biting his lip. Normally, these are all habits that he can hide, but it takes a clear head to do so. His head is anything but clear right now. And she's right, he does have questions, ones that fly through his head even now just begging to be asked. He has to know these things, needs to know.
But... But his poor mother - She must be so confused. If she's from that moment, then... She's here now, alive, with no idea as to where she is or why he's here or how she got here. So he lifts his eyes to get in contact with hers again, his other hand moving to brush her own bangs aside. Yes, he definitely got his tactile sort of love from her.]
I'm fine right now; you must have a lot more. We should go somewhere else, it's way too cold out here. [He glances to the side; one of the things he'd never told her was how he was using his powers for good, to be a hero. He's regretted that ever since she left his life.] I can, um... fly us, if you want. I can do that now.
no subject
No, she hadn't been afraid of dying. She'd been afraid of losing him, and of leaving him too soon. Before he knew of his heritage, or her past, or his real parents. But it seems, in her absence, he's learned quite a lot on his own.
She thinks that she ought to have been surprised by his last comment, but deep down, she really isn't. She's known that he was aware of his powers for years, having watched the subtle little changes that had occurred throughout his life, but had chosen not to comment on them. And while she'd known that something had been going on with him during her last few months with him, he'd chosen not to share it, so she had been waiting patiently. Now, at last, the truth might come out.
So after a moment she smiles, her expression pleased and proud, brushing her thumb over his cheek.]
You found your wings... I knew you would, one day.
