[It's cold. For one who does not like the cold very much, they can be pretty miserable. Luke walks through the village, coat unzipped but crossed over his chest and stomach, with a rather irritated look on his face. Dammit. If Guy were here he'd probably frown at him and zip up his coat before talking to him more...

He glares up at the sky and the little flakes of snow falling from it. He has his journal with him, so he slides it out of his pocket and opens it idly, turning on the video option as he keeps staring up at the sky.]

Damn, this is annoying... It feels like we barely even had fall. [He looks down at the journal now.] Does it ever seem like time's passing by really fast for everyone else?

[And thanks to him holding the journal, his coat's flapped open again. If Xion saw him, she'd definitely zip up...]

Oh...

[With that realization and idea in mind, Luke hurries over to get by a wall, as if that'll help him plan things with everyone else. Then, after some work, he gets some filters ready.]

A lot of people here know Xion, right? Well, um...

[He remembers Flynn, and how he talked about making Rapunzel's dream come true... Why can't he be as smooth as he was while doing that? There's a little blush on his face and everything... GAH. He'll just clear his throat and keep going. He's already started, so why not?]

Her birthday's coming up on the twentieth. Last time there was a surprise party for her, and I was thinking... Maybe we could do that again this year? Or something like that. October's been a pretty bad month for her. Things are getting better, but... I think she could still use something like the people who care about her celebrating her birthday.

[The fact that she was born... created. The fact that she's alive now...]

So we could hold it... somewhere. And maybe... sometime before sunset. ... I don't really know how to do any of this stuff.

[Definitely not Flynn-worthy. Guh.]

[And then her tone shifts to overtly teasing.] Depending on how the party turns out, I might be able to accept you as her boyfriend.

[She does realize from what he said earlier that this is probably a sensitive subject. But, again: suck it up!! Also, in her mind, her tone makes it obvious that she is kidding and actually does approve based on her initial impression and the little she's heard from Xion.]

[... Well, now he just looks flustered. It's what happens when one points out the good qualities that he has... even if they're limited, in his eyes. Honestly, he doesn't really mind if someone picks out why he's not very good; he knows that. He just... wants to be the best that he can be for Xion. Anything less scares him to think about.

At her teasing, he presses his lips together in frustration, though he doesn't seem genuinely annoyed like earlier. In fact, he might even seem teasing too.]

What, so you can't accept me now?

[Sorry, Luke. She finds the flustered expression hilarious and adorable, but at least she keeps herself from laughing this time.

She is glad to see that his annoyed state seems to be more of a joke -- and if it's not, too bad, because that is what she is going to take it as.]

I wouldn't be doing my job right if I accepted you just because of one conversation and a little hearsay. [Fenimore you don't have a job like that.]

What kind of job is that? [As far as he knows, the only one who makes it his job to never accept him is Sanji, and at least Luke can see why.]

It's the duty of every friend to make sure her friends aren't setting themselves up to be hurt. Especially as her older [as someone who doesn't really know the replica status, seemingly by less than a year] and wiser [highly debateable] friend -- she can be a little naïve. So I'll have to watch you closely.

[There's a slight pause from him. Gah, now everyone's going to watch him...

He sighs, then, and shuts his eyes. Why do people not get it?]

I love her. [Yes, over the network. Luke never really says that over it.] I'd want to be hurt first before anything ever happened to her. Just... even seeing her smile can make me happier sometimes. [He opens his eyes, and he smiles a little down at the floor.] You can watch me closely or whatever you want to do. But I promise, I'll never want to hurt her.

[It might happen without him wanting to. That's bound to happen in relationships. But otherwise, he'd do everything in his power to prevent it.]

[...Wow, he really was taking this seriously. Granted, if he didn't take it seriously at all, she would criticize that, too, but this is half just teasing. That he's trying this hard is really kind of cute and funny.

It takes her a moment to reply, trying to cover her amusement as best she can. It's not entirely successful, but she put the effort in.]

You really are a serious guy, aren't you? Maybe a little too serious. [A deliberate beat pause.] But if you're going to be too serious about something, this is a good thing to pick.

[She nods firmly.] All right. I'll keep watching you, and maybe a little of the whatever, but as first impressions go, you're doing a good job.

I'm not that serious about things... [Just the whole girlfriend thing. But can you blame him?]

... Thanks. Just keep watching me, okay? Let me know if I'm still doing a good job or not.

[She keeps herself from giggling at him so that there are some parts of this conversation where she's not laughing at him. She means it in the best of ways, seriously.]

Sure. I can do that. [A pause, and then suppressing the amused tone:] You'll probably do fine.
