[Oh he knows what's coming. He can feel it. And he is already dreading it.]

[There's another awkward pause - oh, how much he wants to say "never mind" so that Yuri doesn't have to bother, but Luke also desperately needs help, if not for his sake, then for Guy and Asch's.]

You... said you had experience, so, uh... Could you help me? I-It'd just be for a little while, and if you really don't want to...

[There's a pause. A fairly long pause. After all, there's possibly meeting Zagi on the way to that house, and that wouldn't be good. Then there's the possibility of having to do everything, and man is he not in the mood for that now. And of course, there's the fact that he used to be a dad, and what if he starts projecting that onto the whole "helping out with kids" thing--]

[... but more than anything else, he can't ignore when someone needs help and he can do something about it. Especially when they ask so damned meekly. Rrgh.

... Sighing.]

... What's your house number?

[Luke was just about to take that silence as a no and apologize and shut the journal, but then Yuri responded.

And he's going to HELP.

I-I'm in House 5! Thank you!

[O-oh geez, he's so thrilled about it too. Man, he can't even complain about doing this if he's going to be that happy about it.]

I'll be over soon.

[... Oh wait.]

... Actually, could you just leave your door unlocked? I've still got a psychopath looking for me, after all. Last thing I need is to be stuck standing in one spot longer than I need to be. [Never mind that said psychopath could be easily listening in on all this, but Yuri has extremely low expectations when it comes to Zagi's intelligence and thus thinks nothing of that.]

A what?! Who's...?! [Luke still couldn't hear at that time, so he really has no idea. But he figures it'd be better to ask later, when Yuri's... at least relatively safe in his home.]

... Okay. I'll go unlock the door now.

[... Huh. He didn't hear about it? ... Maybe he'd explain later, then. Wouldn't want Luke to get caught up with Zagi because he didn't know to avoid the guy, after all.]

[And he should be there in about ... 10 minutes or so. He doesn't live too far away from House 5, after all.]

[Once Yuri enters the house, he might hear the sound of loud sizzling as Luke had left a pot of boiling water on the burner for too long in favor of reading carefully through a recipe book.]

Aaaaah~! ♪ [The yell goes from a low note to a high note as Luke grabs the handle of the pot to put it on a burner that isn't on, spilling a bit of water along the way. Still, he lets out a relieved sigh as the foam dies down almost immediately.]

[Yep, he walks in, hears that ... and sighs, muttering "Looks like I made it just in time, or something like that." to himself before shutting the door behind him. Thankfully, the combination of sizzling and Luke's opera-esque reaction to it make it easy for Yuri to find out where the kitchen is from the entrance ~~wouldn't want him wandering all over the house now~~.

Once he spots it, and Luke, he'll be wandering over.]

... What are you doing? [Because that is not cooking, sir.]

[The kitchen isn't far from the entrance at all, thankfully, so once Yuri speaks up, Luke looks back at him with a flush on his face.]

Cooking. [Because it totally is, sir.]

[Looking over this mess now ... geez. Could be worse, though. Much worse.]

Cooking what, exactly? [Because unless the recipe was for a Royal Mess, it totally isn't. Sir.]

[At least it was just water. :| ]

I was thinking chicken spaghetti, or something... [Well, you... you... Sir. B| ]

[At least. Regardless, Yuri gives him a bit of a look, unsure if he meant spaghetti with chicken or spaghetti made out of chicken or what, but decides to dismiss it either way and just admit that he doesn't know what he's going on about.]

... Never heard of it. [Glancing at the stove and watery mess now. Not that it's bad, but--] And unless the recipe calls for water being thrown everywhere, I take it it's not something you've made in the past, either.

It's spaghetti with chicken mixed into it. [Luke rubs his cheek and glances off the side.] ... I never made it before, but it looked easy! I thought I could do it!

Just because it looks easy doesn't mean it is. [... But all right. Spaghetti with chicken mixed into it? That does sound pretty easy, but just in case ...] Let me see the recipe for it.

[The recipe book wasn't too far from the mess, but luckily, Luke just barely missed splashing it with water. Still, he picks it up quickly as if he just realized how close it was to the water, then flips the book open to the page it's on and hands it over.]

See? It's not so hard. I just... messed up the first part, that's all.

[Taking that and looking it over ... yep, this definitely is easy. But the fact that Luke messed up on boiling water is ... not good. Now, to choose between helping Luke through it or just doing it on his own ... hrm.]

... Well, at least you're admitting to messing up. [ ... ] This does look pretty easy, though. [After looking the recipe over again, he nods to himself, and hands the book back to Luke.] Is everything out that needs to be?

Not everything. I was just looking for the tomatoes when... [GESTURE] -that happened.

[Indeed, the ingredients are out and safe on a cutting board, but Luke isn't really sure how to tell how much is a pound, so there's probably more than that in the ingredients that call for it.]

All right, then get those out so we can get started on this. [Walking over to where the ingredients are laid out and ... erm.] ... Some of this needs to be put away, too.

[He was just about to get the tomatoes when-wait what] Huh? Which ones? Aren't those all in the ingredients?

Yeah, but you've got too much laid out here. It'll throw the taste off if you don't put the right amounts in.
