If anyone can hear me through this thing... I guess you can, I'm just not used to-

A-Anyway, my name is Luke fon Fabre. You've... probably heard of me before. I, uh... don't really know how to say this, but... I-If you know me and I don't know you, I- sorry. I was... here before, but I don't remember any of it. I kind of wonder if that really was me.

If you know-... knew me, then... I wouldn't mind getting to know you again. I... That's probably- It's a lot to ask, I know, and it's okay if you don't want to, I just... thought I'd say it.

... Maybe I should just stick to writing.

[Yeah you better be grateful. Asch is leaning against the side of the house by the door, waiting for him. Patient as always.]

[Luke steps outside, looks around and- ah, there he is. He takes a step away from the door, glances away for a second out of nervousness, then squares his shoulders and meets his eyes.]

What did you want?

[Asch glances sidelong at him, then away, not moving from his spot. This might be difficult, but... he's going to try and control his temper. Don't have a heart attack, Luke.]

What did Guy tell you? About how long we've been here, I mean.

[That depends entirely on what you tell him and how you deliver it, Asch.]

About... two years, I think. [... Man, that is so odd to think about. Luke gives a light snort and shakes his head.] And I just saw him a month ago...

[We'll just have to wait and see, then.]

The calendar's different here. About thirty days per month, and there's only twelve of them. It's been about one year, our time.

[... What.]

Only twelve? H-How did you and Guy get used to that?

[...Mumble.]

I haven't, really. I've kept track of the date since I arrived.

That's a good idea... Do you think I could see what you've got so far? [He's a bit hesitant about that though; Luke wants to keep track, too, but Asch might think it's a waste of time or something...]

That won't work. It's probably a different date for you now.

Oh... [Luke looks a bit dejected at that, but then picks himself back up again.] That's still a long time... And still strange. I mean, it was just a month ago when we... When I saw everyone.

[Asch glances over at him again, thinking back- there's only one time he can recall that kind of lengthy separation, so.]

After lowering the Outer Lands, then.

[So he doesn't know about Eldrant, or what happened there.

...He'll have to remember that.]

Y-Yeah. Guy says you and... just about everyone else are from the future. [Which keeps bothering him. A part of him wants to ask what's happening now and what's going to happen, but then the other half tells him that it'd be just like a Score reading.]

[It's rather unlikely that anyone would tell him anyway, unless they were kind of forced into it.]

...It won't be the same here as it was in Auldrant. Things... changed.

[...Ugh, he has no idea how to go about handling this. Why the hell is he bothering?]

It sure seems pretty different already. [I mean, really, Guy is living with Asch even though, last time he checked, Guy hates Asch, not to mention that the latter is actually letting Luke live with them...]

... Did anything else change? [Because he's got that feeling that the differences aren't going to end there.]

...Hm. [...Goddammit, he can't do it. There is absolutely no way to phrase this in a way that won't completely screw with Luke's peace of mind, and if he messes this up Guy will get pissed off or something. WHY DID HE EVEN BOTHER, LUKE YOU'RE RUINING EVERYTHING ARGH

...Look, all you have to know is that you shouldn't expect anything.

... Okay? [Seriously Asch, Luke kind of figured that out with the whole "kidnapped by mad scientists who put tiny angel wings on you and everyone knows you when they shouldn't" thing.]

[...Dammit, Luke, why do you not understand subtleties, bawww]

That's all I wanted to say. If you have questions, ask Guy.

[Or try asking him, but considering their record in the past, good luck with that. And not that Asch would offer himself up for it anyway.]

[Luke doesn't really get it, so he's not sure what he should be asking for. But he can always PRETEND he got it. So he works up a smile and rubs the back of his head.]

I... yeah, thanks. For the warning.

[Asch makes a vague sound of affirmation, then turns to head back into the house. Well that conversation was a colossal failure.]

[Luke just stands there awkwardly for a moment, but then walks in after him.]

Hey Asch, wait up!

[Asch blinks, glancing back over his shoulder.]
