[Strong as ever- that's her prince. Her baby. (Even though he hasn't been a baby for a long time, now.) His expression just makes her worry more, wondering - knowing that it's likely - if he's thinking of the same thing she is: her own death. She hadn't been afraid of dying, really; even after years on Earth, she's still a Skrull, a woman of a warrior race, who took great pride and joy in the mission she'd been given. Even with Anelle dead, their homeworld devoured, their people scattered throughout the galaxy, she would never abandon her post willingly. Not when Teddy himself was such a treasure to her, the only one she had left in all the cosmos.
No, she hadn't been afraid of dying. She'd been afraid of losing him, and of leaving him too soon. Before he knew of his heritage, or her past, or his real parents. But it seems, in her absence, he's learned quite a lot on his own.
She thinks that she ought to have been surprised by his last comment, but deep down, she really isn't. She's known that he was aware of his powers for years, having watched the subtle little changes that had occurred throughout his life, but had chosen not to comment on them. And while she'd known that something had been going on with him during her last few months with him, he'd chosen not to share it, so she had been waiting patiently. Now, at last, the truth might come out.
So after a moment she smiles, her expression pleased and proud, brushing her thumb over his cheek.]
You found your wings... I knew you would, one day.
