[Video/Voice] Backdated to late morning of the 13th

[The view is nothing but the sky. The rain that falls on it. Blood staining the entire side of the camera.

The voice is shrill. Frantic. Trembling and pained.]

Suh - Somebody – I n-need a healer by the back of the Battle Dome right now! Asch is - hkgh -

[Then there's quiet muttering, as if he's speaking in a whisper to someone else. A whisper that cuts off for a moment, then turns into a hurt sound.

And then nothing else.]

[And true to his word, Emil will come half-racing, half-skidding onto the scene several minutes later, soaking wet and breathing hard, looking around for any sign of his friend.]

Luke!

[It's probably easy to see, with how many people are around and how horrifying the scene is. The rain can't hide the blood and tiny bit of gore on the ground, but Asch is even worse, and Luke is beside him bleeding heavily and weakly yelling at healers to work on Asch, and he tries to heal him himself as well. It's as if he's denying this is happening at all, thinking he can bring him back, because he can't do this, and he's angry and desperate and - ]

[Emil just freezes, unsure of what to do, because they both look pretty bad and his healing isn't enough to handle something like this even with all of the practice he's had... and for a moment he almost panics and wants to run away, but those are his FRIENDS bleeding there and he'd never forgive himself if he didn't do whatever he could to help them.]

Luke! Tell me what to do!

[When he sees Emil, he barely even registers that it's him there. He just reaches to grip Asch's shirt and yells for him.]

Hh-Heal him! Please!

O-okay!

[But when he looks at Asch... he doesn't know how to tell Luke that he's not sure it will even help, and the realization makes him feel sick. Still, he drops to his knees beside the other and begins channeling as much of Nala's healing into Asch as he can, hoping against hope that it will work...]

[Despite protests, Luke still presses his hand against the wound, as if more pressure would help, and sends his own healing power to add to Emil's. His is weak thanks to his energy and how much he's done this already, but he has to try. He has to. He doesn't care what anyone else says. Asch can't be - He - ]

[A part of him is wondering how all of this happened in the first place, but the questions can - and should - wait until later. Right now he's just focused on healing as much as he can, though there's something... odd about it, like the power is just being absorbed and doing nothing, and he's not sure what that means...]

[It's the same for Luke. No matter how much healing he gives, it's as if nothing in Asch's body responds to it. His eyes are still lifeless, the ugly wound is still there, his chest still doesn't move. But despite that, despite the healers giving up and saying that he himself needs to be healed, Luke hasn't stopped. He absolutely can't, no matter how much it takes out of him. He just can't.]

Luke, I...

[... I don't think it's working. But he doesn't know how to say it, not with Luke trying so desperately, and he doesn't want to give up himself either, because Asch is his friend too. He won't accept it. He can't, no matter how much he may know that it's true.]

Shuh - Shut up!

[Don't talk to him don't talk to him he's busy he's focusing Asch Asch don't talk to him. He won't accept this either, and he'll be damned if he lets anyone else tell him that he should.]

[That's enough to startle Emil back into silence, so he'll just continue his futile healing, not really sure what else he can do right now. Given that response, he's kind of afraid to try to shift his healing to Luke instead...]

[And, of course, after a moment, Luke literally can't go on anymore.

The glow in his hand flickers a few times, then fades, even as cringes and tries as hard as he can. One more slight flicker of Nala's healing light, and then it fades, and Luke's head falls to the ground with a small sound of strangled pain. His energy is spent, and he can't keep going anymore, no matter how much he wants to.]

Luke!

[Screw what he was doing earlier, he's going to switch his healing over to Luke instead. Asch may be beyond help, but dammit, he's not going to lose Luke too... he can't. He's not going to lose anyone else.]
